Garverich, 71, of 336 North Thoman St., Crestline, died this morning in Fairview Manor Nursing Home, Bucyrus. He had been ill for the past several months. Mr. Garverick was a native of Richland County, a graduate of Johnsville High School and Cincinnati College of Embalming. He was a funeral director in Crestline for 35 years, moving there from Utica. He was engaged as a funeral director for 45 years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, was a 33 year member of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Odd Fellows, and the Knights of Pythias. Mr. Garverick was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Galion Elks lodge. He is survived by his wife, Maude M.; and two daughters, Mrs. Willard (Maxine) Light of Bucyrus, and Mrs. Luther (Margaret) Lamb of Crestline; one son, John C. of Alexandria, Va.; 11 grandchildren; one great -grandson; one sister, Mrs. Gar Smith of Mt. Gilead and three brothers, Dr. Calvin C. of Long Beach, Calif., Irvin of Mt. Vernon and Meryl J. of Crestline. Services will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Garverick Home of Snyder and Kubach Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles P. Beronius will officiate. Burial will be in Shauck Cemetery."

She lived in Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada in 1901 and Lubec, Washington, Maine, United States for about 43 years. She died in 1979, in Calais, Washington, Maine, United States, at the age of 88, and was buried in North Lubec, Lubec, Washington, Maine, United States."

[57736] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 25 October 2024: "Harborside - Horace 'Hal' A. Snow, 75, died peacefully at home in Harborside on October 13, 2024. He was born October 4, 1949, in Castine, the son of Keith and Rachel Snow. Hal graduated from George Stevens Academy in 1967 and served with the Merchant Marines until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1969. He served for two years and came home to live and work on Holbrook Island for 16 years. After 1987 he worked as a carpenter, caretaker, and handyman. He married Andrea Smith on June 29, 1974, in Presque Isle. They were married for 50 years in June. Hal was devoted to his family, friends, and community. He served on the Brooksville School Board, The Library Board, Historical Society Board, Friends of Holbrook Island, and other community committees. He began as a selectman in 2015, a position he took great pride in until his last day with us. He helped nurture the respect and love of hunting with several kids from town over the years. He coached and officiated at many of the school and town sporting events long after his kids left school - most recently keeping score at the Jared C. Grindle tournament. Hal is survived by his wife, Andrea; son, Joshua Snow and wife, Bente, their daughters, Emma and Anna; daughter, Darcy Snow and husband, Matthew Russell, and their son, Aidan DeRaps-Russell; two sisters, Shirley Estabrook and Lucy Vachon and husband, John; and brother, Steven Snow and wife, Cathy. He was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his father, Keith Snow."

Thomas Vavasour took the blame for her condition and was imprisoned for misconduct. What happened to Elizabeth is unclear, other than that she gave birth to a boy named Walter (b. 1591 - d.1641) who was given to Lettice, Countess of Essex and Leicester, to be raised at Drayton Bassett. She may have returned to court, but more likely she was simply still referred to as a maid of honor. In May 1595, Queen Elizabeth learned that the father of young Walter was not Thomas Vavasour but rather Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex. The Queen was furious, not only because the child had been fathered by Essex, her on and off again favorite, but because she had been deceived. By 22 Mar 1598, when Sir Barentyne Moleyns (or Molyns, Mullens, Mullins), visited Simon Forman the astrologer, Elizabeth Southwell had agreed to marriage with Moleyns. Moleyns was almost blind, weakened by wounds hed received in service to the Queen, and 'notorious for his ugliness'. Formans records indicate disgusting health problems as well, and yet, in Apr, he was considering abandoning the match with Elizabeth if he could persuade another woman, Mary Hampden, to marry him. Then, in Jun, he had a license to marry Elizabeth Southwell, but she had apparently changed her mind. In notes made later, in 1600, Forman noted that Elizabeth Southwell had three suitors and that she was thirty years old. She was already married to Moleyns by that time, since she attended the christening of Robert Sidneys daughter Barbara in Dec 1599 as Lady Moleyns. In 1602 she gave birth to their only child, a son."
The unverified "West Wheeling, OH Pioneer Families" file in 2010 in Ancestry.com states John is son of Joseph Stull (b. 1640) and Katharine Sutfin (b. 1641).
A file in Ancestry.com in 2013 offers: "John Stull, Sr. b. c. 1700-10 in Germany. Arrived in Philadelphia, Pa., about 1730, after being "cast away" at sea on the voyage to America. He married Martha Jones, daughter of Mr. Jones (Jonas?) of Philadelphia, a Swede, and his wife, an Irish woman. They moved to Monocacy Colony in western Maryland, which was in Frederick Co., then called Prince George's Co., Md., and later Washington Co., Md. John built a grist mill on Antietam Creek, and was a miller. He owned plantations "Whiskey" and "Brandy" there. In 1733 he lived in Prince George Co., Monacacy Hundred, which later became Frederick Co. (Maryland State Papers). John and Martha had eight or more children. Eight were mentioned in his will dated Apr. 17, 1749. He died in 1749 in Frederick Co. Martha married second between 1749-1757 John White, b. Eng., lived in Shrewsbury, N. J., and Frederick Co., Md. John White's will was written Sept., 1755, probated Oct. 24, 1759. Martha married third Hugh Torrence, half-brother of William Torrence, Martha Stull's husband, and son of Albert Torrence."

Margaret Stull was the daughter of John Stull and Martha Jones of Philadelphia, Pa. In one record it is stated that John Stull was a German, and another adds that he was a Swedish gentleman of good family and ample fortune. He was shipwrecked on the American Coast and remained a resident of Philadelphia, Pa. He married Martha Jones. From this union there was issue Daniel, John Jr., Jacob, Isaac, Abram, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine, Margaret and Susan.
John Stull, Jr., married Sarah White a daughter of John White and Sarah Leonard, who were the parents of Peter White, who married Margaret Stull. This John Stull, Jr. was a Col. in the Revolution. He had for his second wife Mrs. Mercy Ross, widow of Geo. Ross and sister of Gen. Otho Holland Williams. By John Stull, Jr. first marriage to Martha White there was issue one son Daniel, a Captain in the Revolution, and three daughters, Martha, Susannah and Letitia. The two last married brothers Mark and Martin Hardin of Kentucky, where their posterity still reside. Martha married William Torrance, a half brother of Hugh Torrance who was the third and last husband of Martha Jones. (By this it would apper that Martha Jones married the half brother of her grand-daughter's husband which I rather question.)
From the second wife of Col. John Stull, Jr. there was issue, Mercy, Matilda, John Isaac, Otho and Holland. Mercy married James Kendall; Matilda married George Smoot;John Isaac maried his first cousin Prudence Williams, residing in Georgetown, Md. He was a gallant officer in the Way of 1812. Otho married Letitia Hall residing in Hagerstown, Md. He, though old, was an officer in the late Rebellion. Holland married Dr. Harrison of Martinsburg, Va.
Of the other children of John Stull and Martha Jones, Elizabeth married a Mr. Johnson and moved to South Carolina. She and one of her sons were scalped by the Indians, both survived. Mary married Harmon Greathouse residing on the Ohio River near Wheeling; their sons were terrible fellows among the Indians, old Harmon was taken prisoner by the Indians, as was also Daniel Stull, son of Col. John Stull, Jr., on his was to Kentucky. Daniel married Mary Beaty, daughter of Col. Beaty of Manocacy; Catherine and Susan married brothers, John and Charles Swearingquin and had large families, many of them went to Kentucky; Margaret married Peter White.
Our Martha Jones was a daughter of a Mr. Jones, a native of Sweeden, who married a Miss Whaley, an Irish lady, after coming to this country. (Another record states that this Jones was a Welshman and Miss Whaley, English.)
The parents of Peter White, our great great grandfather, were John White and Sarah Leonard; both of whom were English. John White was a resident of Threwsberry, N.Y. prior to the Revolution. He was born in England, tracing his ancestry through a long and respectable lineage. Sarah Leonard was an accomplished beautiful and remarkable active woman, born in the province of New Jersey. She was celebrated as a graceful and skillful rider, also as a devoted church woman. She is said to have inherited a fortune. The family estate was called Shrewsbury and is so known on the records of New Jersey. John White, Jr. a son, was sent to England to recover a large estate accumulated by his uncle, William White, at the Cape of Good Hope, who died a bachelor and intestate. The estate was large but was lost to the American Heirs through the mismanagement of the said John White, Jr., who spent quite large sums in dissipation while in Europe. The result of this was embarrassment of home and the removal of the family to Maryland where the mother Sarah Leonard White died shortly afterward. Of the union of John White and Sarah Leonard there was issue five sons and four daughters; John, Peter, Leonard, Thomas and James. Abigail, Catherine, Sarah and Ruth.
John married and settled near Easton, Penn. and had a large family; Peter married Margaret Stull, our great great grandparents; Leonard married Mary McCoy and settled in Fayette Co., Pa. His widow married Benjamin Bloomfield. Thomas died unmarried. James married Sarah Clark and settled near Leonard. His widow with one son emigrated to Kentucky. Abigail married first Rev. W. DeButts and later John Furgeson; Catherine married Peter Jones; Sarah married John Stull the brother of Margaret Stull. Ruth married Peter Bainbridge, the son of her Aunt Abigail.
The second wife of John White was Martha Stull (nee Jones) widow of John Stull. This marriage was followed by the marriages of Peter White to Margaret Stull and John Stull, Jr., to Martha White. Thus did father, son and daughter marry mother, daughter and son.
John White had two brothers William and Peter White, neither of whom married, and one sister Abigail, all of whom resided in Shrewsbury, N.J. Abigail married Petr Bainbridge and was the mother of Johh, Edmund, Peter and Absolom. Absolom married a Miss Phillips and was the father of Commodore William Bainbridge of our Navy.
All of the Whites, Leonards and Bainbridges were of English extraction. The Whites are closely connectd with the Throckmortons. The Whites Coat of Arms was an emblazonry of a spread eagle and a white horse.
