[5086] Roger was Lord of Flamstead, Herts, Helston and Carnantum. He died by 12 May 1264. "Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700," Frederick Lewis Weis (7th edition, with additions and corrections by Walter Lee Sheppard, Jr. (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1992), line 98, gives the family as shown here. Cf. G. E. Cokayne; with Vicary Gibbs, H.A. Doubleday, Geoffrey H. White, Duncan Warrand and Lord Howard de Walden, editors, "The Complete Peerage of England, Scotland, Ireland, Great Britain and the United Kingdom, Extant, Extinct or Dormant, new ed.," (1910-1959; reprint in 6 volumes, Gloucester, U.K.: Alan Sutton Publishing, 2000), volume I, page 283, and Peter W. Hammond, editor, "The Complete Peerage or a History of the House of Lords and All its Members From the Earliest Times, Volume XIV: Addenda & Corrigenda" (Stroud, Gloucestershire, U.K.: Sutton Publishing, 1998), page 45. "Medieval English Ancestors of Certain Americans," Carl Boyer III (Santa Clarita, CA, 2001), p. 243, states "He was contracted to marry, about 1238, when a young child, Alice de Bohun, who held the manors of Newton Tonay and East Coulston, Wiltshire. There is no evidence this marriage took place." For Flamstead see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamstead.
