[59453] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 23 May 2025: "Brewer, Maine - Ada J. Taber, 95, passed away on May 21, 2025. Ada was born on January 9, 1930, in Perry, Maine, the daughter of Lester and Lela (Kinney) Johnson. After graduating from Shead Memorial High School, Ada moved to Bangor. She was working at Bangor Hydro when she met and later married Douglas Dunnett. Ada became a stay-at-home mother to raise their three children. Doug passed away in 1970. Several years later, Ada met Gerry Taber. They were married in 1973 and Ada became stepmother to Gerry's four children. Ada and Gerry resided in Red Beach. They had a beautiful home overlooking the St. Croix River. They enjoyed spending time with their many friends. There was always plenty of laughter and of course singing. Over the years, they enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and four-wheeling. Ada was a member of the Garden Club and the Lioness Club. In 1989, they purchased their first home in Florida. They enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and staying active while soaking up the sun. Ada always had a sparkle in her eyes and a big smile that will be missed by so many. Ada was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Calais and attended the Calvary Baptist Church when she moved to Brewer. Ada is survived by her children, Linda Pollard (Bob) of Brewer, Doug Dunnett (Grace) of CA, and Mary Dunnett of Brewer; and her stepchildren, Dennis Taber of Harrison, ME, Debbie Taber of Windham, ME, Dawn Taber-Cayer (Mike) of St. Croix VI, and Scott Taber of MA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ada was predeceased by her husband, Gerry Taber; brothers, Andy Johnson (Mary) and Rocky Johnson (Jean); and beloved sister, Lillian Robinson."

Edward m. Joan, the Fair Maid of Kent (1328-85), dau. of Edmund of
Woodstock (Earl of Kent; son of King Edward I and his first wife, Margaret
of France). Their son became King Richard II (1377-99). For comments on
the love triangle with Joan, Edward and Thomas Holland, see "The Three
Edwards...," Michael Prestwich (N.Y.: St. Martin's Press, 1980), pp.278-79.
Prestich states (p.280): "Contemporaries regarded the Black Prince in his
prime as an exceptionally gifted man, highly intelligent, brave and
personally impressive." He was created the first English Duke (of
Cornwall, 1337), was Prince of Wales in 1343, and distinguished himself in
military campaigns (Crecy, etc.).
