Melvin Edward Thompson, Jr., 24, of 700 Stevenson, Borger was instantly killed. Thompson is survived by his wife and 21-month-old daughter, Diana; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Thompson, Sr., of 1107 Valley Drive; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Chambless and Alma Thompson, both of Borger; two brothers, Robert A. and Maurice, both of Borger; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George C. Henshaw of Skellytown. The welder for the Bowman-Chase Construction Company in Borger is a veteran of World War II, serving with the Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW Post 1789."
