[11528] Henry II (of Castile and Leon) (1333?-79), known as Enrique (Henry) of Trastamara, king of Castile and Leon (1369-79), born in Seville. He was the illegitimate son of Alfonso XI of Castile, who made him count of Trastamara. After the accession of Alfonso's legitimate son, Peter the Cruel, to the throne of Castile and Leon in 1350, Henry fled to France. With an army of mercenaries financed by the kings of France and Aragon, Henry invaded Castile in 1366 and drove Peter from the throne. Edward, prince of Wales, intervened for Peter, however, and defeated Henry at Nájera in 1367. Henry defeated and killed Peter in 1369, becoming king and continuing his alliance with Charles V of France in the Hundred Years' War. In 1372 his navy destroyed an English fleet off La Rochelle. He was succeeded by his son John I.

[32504] Find A Grave Memorial 61791874 offers: "Catharine and her family came to Sandusky County about 1824 and settled on land near that of the Huss family. Catharine helped those less fortunate during sickness, often traveling on horseback through the woods, at all times of the day or night, to bring cheer and aid to those in distress, even to the friendly red men who still remained on the reservation nearby. They called her the 'Little White Angel.' Catharine learned many of their (the Indians') methods of life and also their language. She died at her home on Finnefrock Road. She is buried at Bakerstown Cemetery with Christian. Their graves are at the top of the hill. All the descendants of Catharine Rathbun are also descendants of George Soule, 35th signer of the Mayflower Compact. She died in 1813 in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, at the age of 73.
