[6484] Irvin was a teacher, stonecutter and highway patrolman. His surname on his grave marker is Connor. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 27 Nov 1939," p. 31: "Castine, Nov 26 - Irvin Lincoln Conner, 73, died at his home here Saturday morning after an illness of three years. He was the son of Joseph and Lucinda Conner and had spent his entire his life in this community. He will missed throughout the entire neighborhood as a kind father, a loving husband and a sincere neighbor and friend. For many years he was employed by the state as highway patrolman having charge of the maintenance of state roads in this area. He was the last surviving member of a family of five brothers and sisters. His wife, Mrs. Emma Carter Conner survives, as do six sons and daughters, Mrs. Pauline Butler of Medway, Mass., Mrs. Luena Dunbar and Mrs. Dorothy Varnum, both of this town, Mrs. Kate Eastman of Cundy's Harbor, Irvin L. Conner of Searsport, and Richard V. Conner of Torrens, Cal.; and by two grandsons and two granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews also survive."
