[56005] Find A Grave offers Arthur's obituary: "Orono - Arthur A. Comstock, 84, died peacefully on January 17, 2018, at Dirigo Pines in Orono, Maine, with Betty by his side, where she has been for sixty-three years. He was born on June 12, 1934, to Arthur Comstock Sr. and Emily (Berube) Comstock. Arthur graduated from Old Town High School in June of 1951. He attended Husson College and graduated in four years with an honorary degree in business. He also graduated from Rutgers School of Banking. Arthur married Betty Lee Avery during his second year at Husson. They grew up together just three houses apart. Arthur was a very quiet person and Betty was vivacious and lively, which made for a great couple. Arthur received his letter to join the Army and trained at both Fort Dix in New Jersey and Fort Gordon in Georgia. Then, he was sent to Germany until his two years were up; Betty joined him there. Shortly upon arriving home, Arthur was offered a job as Bank Manager for Northeast Bank in East Millinocket, where he worked for eight years. He was then transferred to the main bank in Millinocket where he became President and was there for twenty years. After this, he was transferred to the main office in Bangor where he was President. He worked there for a few years and then retired. Shortly after this, he was asked to join Camden National Bank in Bangor where he agreed to serve in a part-time capacity and worked there until he was 76. Arthur became very involved in the community as a banker and was on many boards. Dear to his heart was Eastern Maine Medical Center, Acadia Hospital, Eastern Area Agency on Aging, where he was Vice President, and the Katahdin Area Council Boy Scouts of America, where he served as Treasurer. Arthur was predeceased by his mother, Emily, his dad, Arthur Sr., and his brother, Allen. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his son, Thomas and his wife, Sue, and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Cherie and two sisters-in-law, Adath and Nadia; ande several nieces and nephews."

[35617] A file in Ancestry.com in 2013 re: Experience Holly offers: “Experience was probably the daughter of Joseph Holway, of Sandwich; he was there as early as 1641. He was on a committee to set apart the land of the whites from that of the Indians. His name is often spelled Holloway, and sometimes Holly, on the records. His descendants claim lineal descent from the astronomer Holly, the first person to observe the transit of Venus. Joseph lived at Dorchester 1634, and at Weymouth 1639.”

[22577] Richard Hughes (rhugh@earthlink.net) emailed to Wallace Nolin in 2000: " I just thought of a way that we can probably resolve the issue of the parentage of Nathaniel and Caleb. Your abstracts of the wills establishes that they are both sons of Sally McFann, daughter of Jean Sergeant, sister in law to Bartholomew Sergeant. You also state that Sally was executrix for Bartholomew's will. That means that somewhere in the document her place of residence will be stated. If it is Lancaster City, she is the wife of Aaron. If it is Martic Twp., then she is the wife of William." Nolin shared with Hughes: "Assuming for a time that Aaron was the father of this gang, I found in the will of Jean Sergeant written 28 January 1820, proven 21 February 1820 it mentioned her daughter, Sarah (Sally) McFann and her grandson, Nathaniel McFann (mine), her son, Bartholomew and his sister Sarah McFann. The will of Bartholomew Sergeant written 4 December 1821, proven 4 March 1822, mentions his siter, Sally McFann and her son, Caleb. Sally McFann is the exeecutrix of this estate. Parenthetically, Bartholomew Sergeant was the first spouse of Rachel Bruce, who a few years later married Nathaniel McFann (mine) and later moved to Wayne Co., OH. Ephraim Sergeant, Bartholomew's son, also came to Wayne Co., and raised a family here. Orphans Court. 18 September 1823 states that Caleb McFann, a minor (16), whose mother, Sally, has died, does not want his father as his guardian. The court granted the petition without being contested, and awared Caleb's guardianship to a neighbor." Hughes offered via email 30 July 2003: "I find that the 1820 will of Jean Sergent, mother of Sarah (Sally) Sergent, grandmother of Nathaniel McFann and Caleb McFann, states the she is from Martic twp and that the property she leaves is in Martic twp. The 1810 census shows that William McFann is in Martic twp. while Aaron McFann has moved to Lancaster City. Aaron McFann is still in Lancaster City in the 1820 census with a wife. Therefore Sally McFann is the wife of William. Also, the orphan court record showing Caleb requesting the court to appoint someone to be his guardian because his father is unfit has been verified by the county clerk (due to poor copy) as stating at the top left margin 'Wm McFann (not decd)'. He concurred that this must be Caleb's father."
