[27881] See "Zion (Klingers) Church, Part II", compiled by Irwin R. Klinger (Closson Press,1988), p. 167; "A Comprehensive History of the Town of Gratz Pennsylvania", Gratz Historical Society (1997) pp. 411 & 652; "Dauphin Co., PA Vital Records", collected and compiled by Phillip Rice, Jodi A. Germani and Jean A. Dellock, pp. 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115, 141 & 153. "Harrisburg Evening News, 12 March 1938," p. 10: "Monroe Klinger, 59, of near Gratz, who allegedly shot himself in the abdomen at his home Thursday night, died in the Harrisburg Hospital at 1:50 p. m. yesterday. His wife heard the report of a shotgun about 7 o'clock Thursday evening and ran to her husband's room, where she found Klinger lying on the floor wounded with the shotgun beside him, authorities were told." The coroner later ruled it an accidental death.
[27447] Charlet is daughter of Samuel Eberhart Kopp and Anna Catherine Shiff. Ancestry.com offers: "Kopp Name Meaning - German (also Köpp): from a North German pet form of Jakob (see Jacob). German: nickname for someone with a noticeable deformity or peculiarity of the head, from Low German Kopp head. German: from the South German dialect word Kopp (also Kapp) young cock, capon, hence possibly a nickname for a young upstart or a metonymic occupational name for a keeper or breeder of poultry or game cocks. German: habitational name from a place so called in the Eifel Mountains. Hungarian: habitational name from a place so named near Naszvad. The place name is of German origin. A small plot of land near village was named Vábrikkenkopp (from German Weg Brückenkopf) by a Hungarian soldier in the Habsburg Army, who used to stand on watch at the bridge across the Vág river. The locals had difficulty with the name and later shortened it to Kopp."

[9266] "The New Bloomfield Times, 31 May 1881," p. 5: "John Wormley of Tyrone township was killed on Thursday last. He was helping put up a foot-log over Sherman's Creek near Thos. Morrow's when by some means the log slipped from its place and striking on the back of his head crushed him into the water. For a moment he was not missed, till the blood rising on the water, caused a search. He was at once got out by his comrades, but died in about an hour, speaking but once after the accident. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his sudden death. Several others were slightly injured."

Ancestry.com offers: "Ziegler Name Meaning - German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): occupational name for a tiler, from an agent derivative of Middle High German ziegel 'roof tile' (Old High German ziagal, from Latin tegula), German Ziegel. In the Middle Ages the term came to denote bricks as well as tiles, and so in some cases the term may have denoted a brickmaker or bricklayer rather than a tiler."
