FindAGrave offers a note by his grandson, David Chester: "Born in Wolcottville, IN. Had a daughter named Juanita (1928), and a sons named Jack (1932) and John (1935). [19376] The Northern Lyon County Journal [Allen, Kansas]," 2 October 1913, p. 1: "Henry T. Swarner died at the state hospital at Osawalomie, Kansas, after a few days illness. The body was brought to Allen on Friday and funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Peters of Bushong, after which the body was taken to the Bushong cemetery where burial was made. Henry T. Swarner was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania, June 7, 1828, died at Osawatomie, Kansas, September 25, 1913, aged 85 years 3 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Matilda Jane Loy, at Landisburg, Pennsylvania, December, 2, 1856, and came to Kansas May 1, 1879. To this union was born 6 children. Three have gone on before. He united with the Luthern church when a boy. He leaves to mourn his death an aged wife and three sons, David, Jerome and Theodore. Theodore was unable to be present at the funeral." In addition to the children shown here, Henry and Matilda had Clara, Amos, Harry and Theodore (who d. in 1920).
