[58972] Jerry's obituary: "Southwerst Harbor - Jerry Wallace Tapley, 81, died at home Feb. 25, 2025. He was born Nov. 7, 1943, to Lewis Merton and LaRita Mae (Tainter) Tapley. Jerry graduated from Pemetic High School in 1962. He was drafted into the Army June 5, 1965, and served in Korea. Jerry returned home June 5, 1968. He worked for Henry R. Hinckley Co. for 46 years. In 1976, Jerry married Beverly A. Pettegrow. He enjoyed lobster fishing in the summer and cutting wood in the winter. Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly; his son, Wyman Tapley; his three beautiful grandchildren, Sierra Tapley, Bodie Tapley, and Tia Tapley; his three sisters, Alice Pettegrow and husband Malcom, Dinah Spurling and husband Loren, and Rowena Turner and husband Raymond, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Teddy Tapley; and his sister, Bessy Gray."

Born on February 27, 1927 in Spruce Hill Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Lenna (Robinson) Wisehaupt. On February 14, 1947, she married her late husband, Louis A. 'Lupe' Shirk, with whom she was blessed to share more than 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. She is survived by her children, Suzanne Rutledge, of Mifflintown, Christopher Shirk and his wife Carol, of Licking Creek; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Shirk, of Lancaster; a brother, Edward Wisehaupt and his wife Betty, of Harrisburg and she leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were, a son, Raymond 'Rick' Shirk and a granddaughter, Heather Shirk. Betty was a 1945 graduate of Lemoyne High School and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, New Bloomfield. Until her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for the Nettie Frocks Sewing Factory, Mifflintown. Her hobbies included genealogy and reading as well as, word-search and jigsaw puzzles."
