Mr. Dilgard died unexpectedly yesterday morning at his residence. He was co-owner and general manager of the Major Appliance and Jenco companies for 12 years retiring in January, 1958. He ha been a real estate broker here since 1940. Mr. Dilgard was a member of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors, Westminster Presbyterian church, Sertoma and High 12 clubs. F&AM lodge at Mansfield, Scottish Rite and Antioch temple, Dayton, and the Masonic Council chapter and commandery. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Gatch of Columbus; a son, Victor W. of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Lytle of Smirhville, 0., and Mrs. Marie Swineford of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Earl, of Wcoster, and four grandchildren."

Her husband is living alone in Fort Lauderdale, FL according to the census. "Fort Lauderdale News [Fort Lauderdale, FL], 1 February 1952," p. 2: "Mrs. Cora G. Piper, 83-year-old pioneer to Ft. Lauderdale, died Thursday night at Broward General hospital. Born in Brazil, Ind., Mrs. Piper came to this city in 1911. She lived at 216 SE Eighth street. She was a member of Park Temple Methodist church and was a past matron of the Ft. Lauderdale chapter Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, David E. Piper; a daughter, Mary Ruth Piper of Cornelia, Ga., a son, Lt. Col. E. G. Piper, U. S. Army in Germany: a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Taylor, Traverse City Mich., and a brother, Harry W. Gardner of Detroit."

[54593] "Bar Harbor Times [Bar Harbor, Maine]," 19 January 1927, p. 8: "Mrs. Caroline S Bowden Died Wednesday Morning Mrs. Caroline S Bowden passed away early this Wednesday morning at her home in Salisbury Cove after an illness of about two weeks following several years of failing health. She was born March 24, 1853, the daughter of Isaac and Cordelia Cousins Hopkins and has always lives in the home in which she died, a house which is of historic interest being on of the oldest in town having been build when Maine was a part of Massachusetts. She married Frank O. Bowden of Ellsworth whose death occurred several years ago. Two married sons, Paul Leon and Frank Lewis survive her; a daughter Addie May the oldest child, having died at the age of two years. Much care and devotion has been given her by the daughters-in-law who were the Misses Jennie and Mamie Powell of Cambridge, Mass. and who were with her to the last. Mrs. Bowden united with the Eden Baptist Church early in life was and always one of its most active workers. She was a charter member of Bay View Grange and until the past few years due to poor health was one of its most ardent supporters. She was always identified with everything in the community that was for the welfare of the town. A woman full of kindly deeds, and to whom many have turned for help and sympathy in time of need, her passing brings sorrow to the whole community. Funeral services will be at the Baptist Church Salisbury Cove Friday afternoon."
