[59461] Douglas' obituary: "Douglas Leslie Frost, 70, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 13, 2005 at his residence. He was born in May 3, 1935 in Calais, son of the late Frank and Merietta (LaGue) Frost. Upon graduating from Calais Memorial High School in 1952, he graduated from Husson College in Accounting. He worked at Fenderson Insurance Agency, served in the National Guard, there upon he enlisted in the Navy for four years, having the privilege to serve his county and visit many countries. On completion of the military, he was employed as a Bank Manager Trainee at Calais Federal Savings and Loan under the G.I. Bill. In 1961, he went to work for A.N. Deringer Inc. Custom Broker until his retirement in 1995. He was a board member of Calais Federal Savings & Loan for 26 years. Surviving are his loving wife of over 37 years, Sharon (Clinch) Frost; a daughter Lisa Frost and companion Matt Borden of Bangor; a son Chris Clinch and wife Becky of Barrington, NH; a sister Deborah Joyce and husband Mark of Epping, NH; cousin Norma J. Manship; grandchildren, Brenna, Luke, Liam, and Kate; and three best friends, Chris Mulcahy, Dayton Dineen, and the late Rocky Johnson."

He built the John Perkins house overlooking the Castine harbor [now relocated beside the Wilson Museum] and was a prosperous merchant - the Wilson Museum Bulletin, Vol. 3, No. 29 (Spring, 1994) is dedicated to this family, especially their last child, Polly (b. 15 November 1787 at Castine, ME). Also see a major article, "A Man for Castine," by Miriam Anne and Russell Bourne, in Yankee magazine, October, 1969. His children are listed in Wheeler's "History of Castine... [1922], p. 174. John was a Loyalist and joined in the petition to Nova Scotia requesting the British to take possession of the Penobscot area - but after the occupation he moved his family back onto the peninsula. His eldest daughter, Lydia, married a British officer in 1782.
