[51622] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 20 September 2016": "Ellsworth - Wilma Rebecca (Freeman) Sargent, 91, died Sept. 16, 2016, at her home. She was born April 9, 1925, in Milbridge, the daughter of Wilbur and Vera (Chipman) Freeman. Wilma graduated from Milbridge High School at age 15 and went for training at Eastern Maine Medical Center to become a registered nurse. Also during that time she joined the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps. In 1956, Wilma joined Maine Coast Memorial Hospital as one of the original employees. She worked as a registered nurse in both the hospital and in doctors offices over a 40-year career. Upon retirement, she became a volunteer at the hospital. During her nursing training, Wilma met and married Abner L. Sargent. Over the course of their 49-year marriage they worked hard to establish businesses, enjoyed travel and had an active social life with their friends. An avid golfer in later years, Wilma was well known for her putting skill. Wilma is survived by her daughter Rebecca J. Sargent of Ellsworth; three grandchildren, Kari J. Sargent, Rebecca Wilder and husband, Josh, and Billi J. Frost and partner, Torrey; great-granddaughter Jessica Greenlaw; and special grand-dog, Bella; three sisters, Joanne Smith and husband, James, of Milbridge, Hortense Hutchins of Milbridge, and Vera Helen Robertson of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mary 'Peggy' Freeman and Mary Preble; brother-in-law, Charles Sargent. Wilma was predeceased by husband Abner Sargent; son Randolph R. Sargent; daughter Elizabeth 'Betty' S. Spooner; brother James Freeman; grandson Timothy J. Sargent; and companion, Robert Clewley."

[41872] "Wilkes-Barre Times [Wilkes-Barre, PA], 13 September 1902," p. 7: "Shamokin - Nathan Kehres, residing near Dornsife, while passing by a fractious mule in his stable last night was kicked in the body by the animal and this morning died in great agony. He was 70 years old and a well known farmer."
[36536] Ancestry.com offers: "Palmer Name Meaning - English: from Middle English, Old French palmer, paumer (from palme, paume 'palm tree', Latin palma), a nickname for someone who had been on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Such pilgrims generally brought back a palm branch as proof that they had actually made the journey, but there was a vigorous trade in false souvenirs, and the term also came to be applied to a cleric who sold indulgences."

[60373] "San Diego Union-Tribune [San Diego, California]," 4 September 2022: "Brian 'Ease' Wardwell died unexpectedly in La Jolla, CA on August 18, 2022. He was born at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bremerton, WA on April 24, 1961. As a 'navy brat' he attended schools from Castine, Maine to Kate Sessions Elementary in Pacific Beach and graduated in 1979 from Woodrow Wilson High in Long Beach, CA. At Wilson he was recruited by the gymnastics coach and excelled immediately. He won the Southern CA C.I.F. championship in the rings event his senior season, while surfing and having a great time in Belmont Shores with his many friends. He graduated in Business from San Diego State University. While at SDSU, he joined Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity where he lived in 'the house', was Rush Chairman, and a committed and active 'bro'. He cherished those memories and the countless friends he enjoyed. Brian was a strong supporter of Aztec athletics and loved to say how Kawhi Leonard, Marshall Faulk and Tony Gwynn were the best NBA, NFL and MLB players ever, and coincidentally also Aztecs! Brians green thumb, construction skills and energy were evident in his home where he built his own hot tub, custom BBQ and bar and even converted an old garage into a separate living unit for his daughter, Juliana. Brian had a very successful career in the construction industry and was very proud of the many apartment buildings he helped plan and build. His projects always came in 'on time' and 'on budget.' He was well respected and enjoyed a great reputation. He was the V.P. for Preconstruction and Estimating at IronCore Construction at the time of his death. When Brian was 17 his grandfather had a heart attack, and Brian answered the call by running the family farm in Castine, Maine for an entire summer with his favorite cousin and 3rd brother, Kevin Durgin, who was 10. Milking the cows at 4 am and 4 pm 7 days a week and collecting eggs, feeding the animals and doing whatever grammy asked of him. All while fishing, clamming, and partying with his local friends including his buddy, Alan Snapp. That summer bonded him forever to that 80 acres on Hatchs Cove and to the town of Castine, where his family roots ran hundreds of years deep. In recent years, Brian started a vineyard on the farm and did all the building and planting himself. He enjoyed the harvest and drinking his own wine. Brian met the love of his life Sonya Vega and they were happily married for 21 years, and from their union came his pride and joy, a daughter Juliana, whom he loved and enjoyed a special bond. He was extremely proud of her athletic and academic accomplishments and what a great person she was. Brian is survived by his wife, Sonya Wardwell, and their daughter Juliana, his parents Capt. Arthur F. Wardwell Jr., whom he loved to hunt with, and Judith Sawyer Sandven, whom he spent treasured moments on the farm with. He was extremely tight with his two brothers who also survive him, Arthur F. Wardwell III (Lorna) his 'Irish twin' (347 days) of Newport Beach, and their sons Samuel, Spencer and Tristan, and Dr. Scott A .Wardwell (Lynn) of Honolulu, and their daughters Taylor and Kirra. He also is survived by his aunt Mary Sawyer Bartlett and his cousin Kevin Durgin."
