[57745] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 8 January 2023: "Machias - Helen McCaleb Gooch, 86, passed away January 4, 2023, at her home. She was born November 26, 1936, in Machias the daughter of the late Roland and Eola (Look) McCaleb. She was a proud graduate of the 'Old' Machias High School class of 1954, and was a Loyal Machias Bulldogs fan. She really enjoyed being in charge of the Machias Bulldog summer training facility for 25 years at 11 Broadway where she and her late husband 'Gebo' provided the kids of the neighborhood a place to play basketball, go swimming in their pool, and cookouts on the grill. They enjoyed seeing kids happy, and they always succeeded in doing that with the hundreds of kids who came over and enjoyed themselves through the years. She was a longtime worker at Helen's restaurant and she loved her job and coworkers, and the people she met working there. She also enjoyed the Anah Shrine events she attended with her husband 'Gebo' and the many friends they made. She is survived by her sons, Richard Mallar of Orlando, FL, Roland Mallar of Pinehurst, NC, John Gooch of Manchester, NH, and Michael Gooch of Whiting, ME; 3 grandsons, Jason Mallar, Joseph Gooch, and Breckin Gooch; 3 great-grandsons, Julian, Riley, and Vinnie; siblings, Jane Jordan and husband, Richard, of New Britian, CT, Thursa Phillips of Westbrook, ME, Eleanor Grant of Calais, Rowena Julian and husband, Robert, of Virginia Beach, VA, Martha Dean and husband, Charles of Hampden, ME; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerrold "Gebo" Gooch; a son, Robert Mallar; and a brother, Clifton."

[16047] William emigrated with John, Miriam and Thomas, and is therefore thought by some to be their brother. See Gen. Dict. of ME & NH, p. 500. He arrived at age 20 in 1637 as servant with family of Robert Page, went with them to Hampton and married their daughter. He was step-son of William Estow. See "Some Doubts About the English Background of the Moulton Family," Joy Wade Moulton, in the NEHGR, 1990, pp. 245-263, where he is not listed as a child of Robert and Mary. See "Revised Ancestry for William Moulton of Hampton, New Hampshire, Including Some Revisions of the Early Ancestry of His New England Cousins," Myrtle Stevens Hyde (NEHGR 7/2009, Vol. 164, No. 651, pp. 165-173). Cf. "Genealogical and Personal Memories Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, Vol. 3," William Richard Cutter (New York: Lewis Historical Publishing Co., 1908) p. 1152. For this line also see "Burke's American Families with British Ancestry: The Lineages of 1,600 Families of British Origin Now Resident in the United States of America," John Bernard Burke (Baltimore, MD: Genealogical Publishing, 2010), pp. 2836-2837. The unverified Osborne Tree in Ancestry.com in 2016 offers: "William Moulton was born in 1617 in Norfolk. He married Margaret Page in 1644 in Hampton, New Hampshire. They had one child during their marriage. He died on April 18, 1664, in Massachusetts, at the age of 47, and was buried in Hampton, New Hampshire."
