He is survived by his daughter Sandra Emerson; his son Gregory Emerson and wife Janice; grandchildren - Jessica Peabody and partner Brad Jellison, Brent Davis , Crystal Davis and partner Alvin Beal; great-grandchildren Maxwell 'Little Max' Matthews, Brooke and Nathaniel (Davis) Carter, and Alvin Beal Jr.; brothers - Larry and Clifton Emerson ; sisters - Lucille Albee , Carla Merritt, and Darlene Carver. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Glennis (Norton) Emerson on Nov. 3, 2014, and who he longed to be reunited with since that date. In addition to Glennis, and his parents he was predeceased by four brothers- Ernest, George, Sherman , and Robert , and a sister Delanie Beal."

"The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 15 October 2019": "Deer Isle - Neva L. Beck passed away on Oct. 10, 2019, at the Island Nursing Home. Neva was born June 16, 1921. Parents: Fred and Lillian Sylvester and Stepmother Louise Sylvester. Siblings: Dorothy Carmen, Elwyn Sylvester, Arlene Kydd and Norma Heanssler.
Neva married George Lane Beck, who passed on in 1969. She is survived by her two children, Jonathan Beck and his wife, Dorena, Linda Stratton and her friend, Gerald Weed; one granddaughter, Lisa Moon, and her husband, Gregory; three great-grandchildren, Michael Beck and his wife, Charity, Brandy Knopp and her husband, Steve, and Brittany Stanley; nine great-great grandchildren, Michalah, Teagan and Jake Beck, Kaliana and Autumn Knopp, Tristan, Taylor, Brantley and Colton Ciomei and their father, Seth Ciomei. She graduated from McKinley High School and attended the University of Maine. She served as the clerk for the town of Deer Isle for many years. She worked for her good friend Walker Pickering in his grocery store. She opened her own business, The Periwinkle, back when very few women ran their own business. She ran this business for 45-plus years, selling the Periwinkle to Jim and Candy Eaton and retiring at age 93. She continued to live by herself up until a couple years ago when she had a caregiver come in to help her out. That is when Linda Parker came into her life as her special caregiver and they connected right away. Their relationship remained strong until Nevas very last breath. Over the years she volunteered for the schools reading program and the Arts and Crafts at the Island Nursing Home. She participated in many Fourth of July parades and worked at the Fish & Fritter Scholarship Fry. She was a director at the Historical Society and served on the Deer Isle-Stonington Chamber of Commerce board for years. She was a mentor for many years in her rug braiding classes, teaching newcomers and sharing with veteran ruggers and she participated in a knitting group. Neva was always a community-minded person throughout her entire life."
