[48385] "Bangor Daily News, 15 February 2021": "Trenton - Barrett Snow passed away at age 72 of complications related to COVID-19, at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth on February 8, 2021. He and his twin brother, Brian, were born to J. Frederick and Mildred Snow on April 10, 1948, at the Blue Hill Hospital. Barrett was a graduate of George Stevens Academy, after which, under the apprenticeship of his father, he embarked on a lifetime career as an electrician. Barrett worked for the Rosemyer Gas Company, Kerramerican Mines Corp, and with his brother, Michael Snow, Master Electrician. For Industrial Welding and Machine of Portland, he worked up and down the New England coast from Searsport, ME to Rhode Island, maintaining and repairing ship engines for the US Navy, USCG, and foreign ships as well. At one time, Barrett was working on a ship that left port unexpectedly, leaving him stranded onboard, without a passport, for a full two weeks. It was only after Sen. Edmund Muskie intervened that Barrett was able to be safely brought, after sailing all the way to the Gulf of Mexico and back through rogue waves, to shore in New York where he was welcomed by his father, along with several Immigration officers. Barrett next worked for Acadia Resorts as a maintenance technician where he was well-liked and respected personally and professionally for his array of skills. He also worked for his son, Barrett, Jr., who owned a boat building business in Providence, RI doing the electrical work. Barrett (lovingly called Sugarbear) became a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he found love and acceptance beyond his imagination. He helped his fellow AA members by driving hundreds of miles transporting them to and from meetings and sharing his stories. He would spend hours repairing furnaces and appliances for members out of the goodness of his heart. Barrett is predeceased by his parents, J. Frederick and Mildred Snow; twin brother, Brian Snow; brother, Timothy Snow; and niece, Heidi Lynn Beal. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his son, Barrett Snow Jr. of Allston, MA; grandson, Harrison Snow of New York City; his aunt Judy Goodwin (Tom) of Seal Cove; sisters, Nanette Beal of Blue Hill (with whom he shared a home in Trenton for many years), Lucy Astbury (Brian) of Orland, Katherine 'Kitty' Peasley (Greg) of Brooksville; brothers, Michael Snow (Jan) of Blue Hill and Jeffrey Snow of Blue Hill. He is also survived by nieces, Terry Snow, Lucy Leighton, Casey McGraw (Joseph), Samantha Pickering (Christopher), and Kari Meillat (Guillaume); and nephews, Shane Leighton, Donald Wasserman-Beal (Nick), and Jonathan Snow; as well as his many cousins; and special friend, Maryann Ogonowski."

[58041] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 November 2024: "Bangor - Bonnie Gail Snow (Johnson) Van Dyke, three days short of her 77th birthday, departed November 18, 2024, to be with her family in heaven. Bonnie, born November 21, 1947, in Blue Hill to the proud parents, Roy L. and Belva J. (Ladd) Snow. She lived in the Blue Hill, Stonington area for many years. In her earlier years, as teenagers, her to be husband, Neal Johnson, had made comments to Bonnie, 'Someday we are going to be husband and wife.' She and Neal Johnson were married, March 16, 1966. Their marriage held tight until Neal's passing, June 05, 2007. In December 2007, Bonnie met with John W. Van Dyke and on October 17, 2009 they married. At 61 years, she experienced her first plane ride from Portland, Maine to New York. Looking out the window at 24, 000 feet was quite an experience. She enjoyed going to different places, visiting with family members, and RVing at different locations in Maine. For many years we stayed summers at Pleasant River RV Park, Addison, Maine. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Robin. She is survived by her brothers, Barry and his wife, Anna, Kim, Shawn and his wife, Sandy, and Joe Snow; her daughters, Melissa (Johnson) Baker and husband, Lee, and Cassandra Johnson; grandchildren, Cole and Megan Beaton, Mikele (Rodgers) Block and Abigail Rodgers; two great-grandchildren; two very special cousins, Irene (Nevells) and her husband, Everett Spencer, and Rachel (Carter) Munson and her partner, Edward Markey; and last, but not least, Aunt Gloria M. (Ladd) Nevells. Our warmest 'Thank You' goes out to all the people who cared for Bonnie at Westgate Center, Bangor, Maine, and the comforting from Constellation Hospice, Augusta, Maine. It was with their total caring, that made this most difficult time comforting. Finally, a special 'Thank You' goes out to Steven Collins. It was his untiring efforts in support of the family for many decades. A private burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor."
