Platt who passed away in January of 1997. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Harry E. D. and Elizabeth G. Longer Bleecher. She was a food service worker for Service America Corporation and a hostess for the Symposium Restaurant for the past eight years. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster and was a foster mother for many years. She loved dogs, gardening, traveling and cars. She was an avid reader, especially books by Stephen King and Ann Rule. She is survived by three brothers: Edward F. Bleecher, Corning, IA; Barry L. (Cheryl) Bleecher, Quarryville and H. Dale (Ila) Bleecher, Willow Street. Two sisters: Frances B. Stively, Millersville and Lorna Jean (Malcolm) Rash, Salisbury, NC. Sister-in-law: Janice Bleecher, Lancaster. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: H. Glenn Bleecher."

He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Winter Harbor, a son of Foster P. and Eva A. (Wescott) Harrington. Walter grew up in Winter Harbor and graduated from Winter Harbor High School in 1943. On Feb. 14, 1947, Walter married Gertrude E. Haycock in Ellsworth. She passed away November 2003. After working several jobs as a young man, he and his son, Gordon, formed Winter Harbor Carpenters and Builders in 1975. They worked together building homes for the next 25 years in the Winter Harbor and Gouldsboro area. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a member and past master of Schoodic Grange, Winter Harbor Fire Department, selectman and the sexton of the Winter Harbor cemeteries. He is survived by his son and best friend, Gordon Harrington, and wife, Diana; granddaughters, Melissa Harrington, Tracey Hutchins and husband, Jeffery, all of Winter Harbor; great-grandchildren, Robert and Matthew Correia, and Alexis and Emilee Hutchins; sister, Grace Gerrish; several nieces and nephews; special great-nephew, Brendan and Kristen Rush; and special friend, Lawrence Cole. He was predeceased by his parents; wife of 56 years, Gertrude; four brothers; and three sisters."

[931] Joseph served in King Philip's War, probably under Capt. Joseph Sill, 24 August 1676. His sister, Mary, is ancestor of George Bush, United States President. A Hannah Adams was "associated with" Joseph in Jan, 1678, and with him had a daughter, Hannah Mayo, b. 12 Oct 1678 in Newbury - Hannah Adams was step-sister of Sarah Short (Joseph's wife) and in 1708 m. Joseph Lunt (see "The Essex Antiquarian", vol.2, #2, Feb. 1898:18).

[19436] An unverified tree in Ancestry.com in 2019 offers: "When Harvey C. Swarner was born on January 28, 1870, in Fairfield, Ohio, his father, George, was 31 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 26. He had two brothers and three sisters. He died in 1949 in Lancaster, Ohio, at the age of 79. . . . [His Wife] Anna W. Landis was born in July 1878 in Ohio. She died in 1957 in Fairfield, Ohio, at the age of 79." "Lancaster Eagle-Gazette [Lancaster, Ohio], 2 June 1949," p. 2: "Harvey Clement Swarner, 79, 132 Arlington av, who, with his wife had operated a tailor and jewelry shop, at 200 South Columbus st. since 1925, died Wednesday, 9 p. m., in Lancaster Hospital, following a two weeks illness. Previous to 1925, Mr. Swarner operated a tailor shop in Baltimore for 35 years. The Lancaster establishment was known as Swarner and Swarner. Survivors include his widow. Anna, and one sister, Mrs. Lester Kumler, Baltimore. Services will be held Saturday, 2 p. m., in the A. E. Johnson Memorial funeral home, Baltimore, with the Rev. E. F. Braden of Beulah EUB Church officiating. Burial is to be made in the Methodist cemetery at Baltimore."
