[34477] "The Standard [Lykens, Pennsylvania], 24 January 1930," p. 8: "Mrs. Alice Geist, 77, who resided for the past seven years in Hegins, died at the home of Calvin Otto in Main Street, Tuesday. January 14, at 4 A. M., following a seven day illness of paralysis. Mrs. Geist was born in Hepler, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fetterolf. She was united in marriage to Mr. Rudolph Geist, who preceded her in death. Four sons, Francis, Greenbrier; Edgar, Shamokin; Lewis, Pittsburgh; Daniel, Pitman; and one daughter, Mrs. Calvin Otto, Hegins, survive. One sister, Mis. Solomon Maurer, fifteen grand-children and one great grandchild, also survives. During her life she attended and took an active part in the Reformed church of Leck Hill. Brief funeral services were held at the home with further services m the Reformed church of Leck Hill, Saturday, Jan. 18, Rev. James Beam and Rev. H. J. Naftzingr, of Hegins, officiating. Burial vas made in the cemetery adjoining the church."

He married Hannah Goodale on November 24, 1777, in Acworth, New Hampshire. They had nine children in 20 years. He died in 1826 in Aurora, Maine, at the age of 71, and was buried there." Samuel was a veteran of military service. Find A Grave memorial 80533347 states Samuel was b. 4 Nov 1755 in Acworth, Sullivan Co., NH.
