[54074] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor,Maine]," 25 September 2008: "Beals - James 'Jimmie' M. Beal, 98, of Beals Island, went home to be with his Lord, his wife and daughter, April 16, 2007, at Sunrise Care Facility, Jonesport. He was born Oct. 17, 1908, the son of the late Jesse F. and Mercy A. (Stanwood) Beal of Beals. Jimmie was a member of the Beals Wesleyan Church. He worked the ocean for most of his life. Jimmie was a lobster fisherman, did herring seining and loved visiting area boat shops. He is survived by his son, Ronald Faulkingham of Skowhegan; one brother, Calvin Beal Sr. of Beals; two sisters, Ruth Faulkingham of Beals and Lois Davis of Titusville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Jimmie will be sadly missed by many, especially his nephew, Grover Faulkingham Jr.; and special friend, Cheryl Tibbetts of Beals, who have cared for him in his later years. Jimmie loved his cat, Smokey, who kept him company at home and visited him in the nursing home. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Louisa E. Beal; his daughter, Olive Bernice; one brother and three sisters."
