Jasper succeeded his father as guide, trapper and camp operator near Norcross, ME. Photos of him with L. L. Bean appear in Bean's "Hunting, Fishing and Camping" (Freeport, ME: 1942), pp. 78 & 80. Jasper was running his trap line by ski airplane in Aroostook County, ME when his airplane lost power as he took off from a lake surface and crashed - he was airlifted to Boston, MA where he died.
"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 26 February 1960, p. 1: "BOSTON (AP) -Jasper Haynes, 62, of Millinocket, Maine, a bush pilot who was injured when his plane crashed last Thursday, died last night at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. Haynes was flown to Boston Saturday from a Caribou, Maine hospital. He had been in critical condition since the crash with fractures, head injuries and burns. The noted pilot and trapper suffered the injuries when his light plane crashed on the St John River near the Daquam, Que., custom house, A passenger, Don Lambert, 23, of Brewer, Maine, escaped serious injury. Haynes was guide, bush pilot and trapper. He owned and operated a string of sporting camps in and around Jo-Mary Lakes and lived at Buckhorn Camps on Middle Jo-Mary. A native of Great Pond, Hayes had lived in Bangor and moved to Millinocket in 1935. A graduate of Good Will School in Hinckley, he attended Shaw Business College, Bangor and served for a year with the British Army in World War I, and later in the American Army. Haynes learned to fly in 1946 at the age of 49 and had logged about 5,000 hours of air time since. He was a long time booster for Maine trappers. A director of the Maine Trappers Association, he was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masons."
An article in the Bangor Daily News by Wayne E. Reilly 17 January 2016: ". . . 'NIGHTMARE HORRORS SEEN BY BANGOR MAN,' a Jan. 1[1916] headline said, informing readers of the Bangor Daily News that Jasper Haynes had been forced to quit the British army after fighting for months on the Western Front. He could tell tales 'that make listeners hair curl,' the reporter noted. Haynes was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Haynes of 66 Charles St. He had left home last June seeking adventure with his parents approval - up to a point. A crack shot and a registered guide, he also had experience as a fire warden. The Haynes family had moved to Bangor from Amherst only a year ago. Haynes served as a cabin boy on a steamship crossing the Atlantic. When he arrived in England, the underaged youth promptly enlisted in the army, telling recruiters that he was a Canadian. His parents didnt know about this, and thats how they were able to secure his release with help by the State Department some months later. Haynes was lucky to be alive by then. He had been sent to the front. He occupied trenches in water up to his knees while bombs and bullets rained down around him. His fellow soldiers were regularly blown to pieces. He stood at the pumps all night trying to drain the trenches. He came to understand that 'there was mighty little glory in being blown up by mines, etc., modern warfare being nothing but plain slaughter,' the newspaper story said. Although he was in the danger zone for weeks, Haynes escaped without a wound or an illness. His father wrote him letters ordering him home, but he refused to leave his comrades. The family contacted the State Department through a Bangor lawyer. After the proceedings were over, Haynes 'was taken out of the trenches without any warning, and was told the United States wanted him.'" [54636] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 12 April 2021: "Hermon - Shirley Marylyn (Hodgdon) Hatch passed away on April 4, 2021, at 92 years old. She left this world after a short hospitalization at EMMC, Bangor, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Glenburn, on December 2, 1928, to Donald Reid Hodgdon and Julia Anne Scott Babb. Having lost her mother at an early age, Shirley and her family lived with her Aunt Zelma and Uncle Homer Hodgdon and their family in Levant. Zelma became a second mother to her. Shirley eloped with Norman A. Hatch on October 15, 1948, having a joint ceremony with Norman's cousin A. Urban Hatch Jr. and his bride-to-be, Ada Hanscom. Shirley and Ada began a lifelong bond that was simply incredible. Shirley and Norman lived the majority of their married life on Ohio St. in Hermon, with the exception of three years in Limestone and one winter in Bar Harbor. Shirley worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She was Penobscot Register of Deeds from 1976-1982. After retiring from the Registry, she worked at the law office of Cohen & Cohen in Bangor. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star since 1952 and served as Worthy Matron from 1992 to 1998. Since Norman was active in the Anah Shrine Clown Unit, Shirley actively participated in the Shrine community helping out as needed. Shirley liked baseball, mainly because of her brother, Wayne. She enjoyed collecting postcards, watching birds in her yard, reading, doing puzzles, knitting, and crocheting. How we will miss those annual Christmas presents consisting of hats & mittens. She did find humor in making the grandchildren wary of the 'ole left hand' and being the precursor for multiple generations of 'Fifis.' Her biggest hobby was genealogy. Hours and hours spent, books and books of information stored. If you ever spoke with Shirley, you probably have a book on your family history at her house! And she loved her loud, crazy family and was always there for them. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Norman 'Hoopy Scoopy'; her son, Dale 'Slap Shot'; parents; brother, Wayne; sister, Janice; son-in-law, Winfred 'Butch' Halloran; several close cousins; and a nephew. She is survived by sons, Reid (Claudia) and James (Linda); daughters, Mary (Rick) Faloon, Shirlene (Fred) Lindsey; daughter-in-law, Theresa (Dale) Hatch; grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, Eric, Brady, Wendy, Marc, Amanda, Jason, Jennifer, Jill, Janelle, Justin, Nicole, Darren, Kaitlyn, and Jacob; 20 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronald (Gail) Hatch; several nieces and nephews, familial or adopted; and the exceptional Ada."

[2960] Find A Grave memorial 86017908 offers: "Oliver Ingham (or De Ingham, d'Ingham) was an English commander and administrator in Aquitaine during the War of Saint-Sardos and early Hundred Years War. He became Sheriff of Cheshire. Oliver was jailed at Winchester for his involvement in the civil wars of Edward II of England, but was released in 1324 to serve under Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent in the Duchy of Aquitaine during the short War of Saint-Sardos against France. In 1326 Oliver was appointed Seneschal of Gascony, the highest post in what remained in English possession. He managed to raise an army of mercenaries and capture a number of strongholds in Agenais and Saintonge. However the political climate at home had changed. Edward II had been deposed and replaced by his son Edward III under the regency of Queen Isabella and Roger Mortimer. The regents wanted peace and in the final treaty the loss of Agenais was accepted and Ingham's conquests abandoned. To appease the French Oliver was at first recalled to England, but was reappointed Seneschal of Gascony in June 1331. He still held this office in 1337 when the Hundred Years War broke out and he was tasked with defending Gascony from French invasion. The defences of the duchy had been undermined with the loss of several key castles in the previous war and the loyalty of the local nobility was divided as many owned estates on both sides of the border. English strategy in the early years centred on invading Northern France; Oliver received neither troops nor funds from England, but had to relay entirely on local resources. The income of the duchy depended mainly on tolls and customs on the river trade, this dried up almost entirely with the onset of war. Most of what revenue remained had to be expended on paying garrison commanders. As a result Oliver's government at Bordeaux had very limited options in how to conduct the defence. Oliver married Elizabeth Zouche, born 1282 in Ellesmere, Shropshire. [16658] Alan Lunstedt's unverified information at Ancestry World Tree in 2004 states that Hannah and Robert m. 25 Dec 1735 in Ipswich, MA and cites "Vital Records of Ipswich, MA to 1849" (Essex Institue, Salem, MA: 1910-1919). Lundstedt also states that Robert m. (2) after 3 Oct 1763 Eunice _____ (b. ca. 1735) and had with her Moses Wallis (b. by 27 March 1768). Lundstedt omits Denison Wallis from the children of Robert's first marriage. Robert's ancestry is from Lunstedt's web site.
