[60743] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 24 October 2025: "Deer Isle - Judith May Barbour Hardy, born May 14, 1942, in Bristol, Conn., to Douglas and Gloria (Conary) Barbour, passed away peacefully Oct. 19, 2025. Judy graduated from Deer Isle High School in 1960, then in 1961 from Eastern Maine Beautician School. After graduation, she traveled to Palm Beach, Fla., where she received her license of cosmetology and where she spent three winters. After returning home to Deer Isle, she opened Judy's Cut and Curl in 1967 and operated it for 35 busy years. Judy enjoyed being outside in her flower gardens planting posies with the birds as well as traveling. She and the late Sam Hardy traveled frequently to Camden on the weekends, and they frequently wintered in Florida. Her favorite locations were Camdens Smiling Cow for tea on the deck, the Fryeburg Fair, and Florida's Daytona Beach. Judy is survived by her sister, Joanne Haskell with husband William; brother-in-law, Douglas Hardy Sr. with wife Ruth; granddaughter, Stormi Steele with husband Garrett; great-grandchildren, Annie and Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her spouse, Elwood 'Sam' Hardy; son, Sammy Scott Hardy; sister, Janet Barbour Libby; and nephew, Danny D. Hardy."

[46847] "Pottsville Republican [Pottsville, Pennsylvania], 23 May 1932," p. 10: "George Hepler, aged 54 years, died at his late home at Gratz, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Although he was in ill hearth for several years, he was bedfast only a month. He wms born at Gratz, November 1, 1877, a son of Isaac and Amanda Hepler. He was marriage 32 year ago to Miss Beulah Tobias, of Gratz. For the past 32 years he has made weekly visits to Minersville, Girardville, Mahanoy City, Shenandoah and Ashland, with produce from his farm and in season with fruit. He owned a large peach orchard, and took the fruit to the same markets that his father established before him. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Blanche, and a son, Benjamin, at home. Two sons, Louis and Harry, also make their home in Gratz, while another son, Fred, a Marine, is stationed in Honolulu. His mother, Mrs. Amanda Hepler, of Harrisburg, two brothers, Joseph, of Harrisburg, and Thomas, of Williamsport, and three sisters, Lottie, wife of Dr. Allen Ritzman, of Harrisburg; Hannah, wife of Rev. Curtis Miller, pastor of the Lutheran Church, at Allentown, and Anna, wife of Harry Schmeltzer of Harrisburg, also survive."
