He attended the Gilman School in Baltimore, Md., and graduated from Princeton University in the class of 1938. After graduating from college, Mr. Mueller entered the United States Navy where he served as an officer in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean during World War II. After the war, Mr. Mueller worked with Dupont until his retirement. Mr. Mueller's wife of 64 years, Alice Truesdale Mueller, died earlier this year. Mr. Mueller is survived by his son, Robert S. Mueller, III, of Washington, DC; four daughters: Susan M. Timchak of Lutz, FL; Sandra M. Dick, of Brookline, MA.; Joan B. Mueller of Pownal, ME.; Patricia H. Mueller of Jericho, VT; 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren."
