"Mansfield News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio]," 2 December 1939: "Mrs. Katherine King, 70, of Fifth avenue, widow of Karl King, died in General hospital today after a lingering illness. She was born in Germany, Nov. 14, 1869, and came to this city at the age of 17. Surviving are seven sons, Alfred, Curtis, Fred, Charles, Emil, Luther and Ralph; four daughters, Mrs. Linda Conrad, Mrs. Daniel Schulte, Mrs. William Heichel and Miss Frances King of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Farn of Mansfield and Mrs. Otille Bohn of Germany, and 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Wappner funeral home where services will be held at 3 p. m. Monday with Rev. William Sossna of the German Church of the Assemblies of God officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery."
