Sophia died in 1862 and Stephen remarried Betsey E Kelley, widower of David F Gould. Betsey and Stephen married 19 Oct 1872. In the 1871 Census of Canada, Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Stephen was living there with his 12 year old daughter Frences and Elizabeth 'Betsey' Gould was living there with her daughter Medora Gould."
