His grave marker records service as a Capt. in World War I. "The Indianapolis Star [Indianapolis, Indiana], 4 July 1957," p. 17: "Funeral services for Glenn D. Loy of Miami, Fla., former Indianapolis contractor, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the McMullan Funeral Home at Westfield. Burial will he in the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Loy, 68 years old, died Tuesday in a Miami hospital. A native of Chicago, he had lived here most of his life. After retiring about six years ago, he went to Miami. With his brothers he had been in the contracting business on the East Side for many years. Mr. Loy attended Butler University where he played varsity football and baseball. During World War I he was a first lieutenant with the field artillery in France. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Deloris Loy; a daughter, Miss Marcia Loy of Miami; a sister, Mrs. Frank J. Casey of Geneva, III., and two brothers, George B. and Forrest A. Loy, both of Indianapolis."

[36426] "Shamokin News-Dispatch [Shamokin, PA], 16 November 1950," p. 2: "Mrs. Catherine Karpinskl, 68, of 1170 Pulaski Avenue, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 in her home from the effects of a stroke. She was in good health until last Monday, when she was stricken acutely ill. Born in Excelsior, May 4, 1882, Mrs. Karpinski was a daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine (Kroh) Souders. She was married 50 years ago to John Karpinski, who died April 29, 1949. Mrs. Karpinski was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and St. Francis Auxiliary. The following children survive: Edward, Trevose; Lawrence, Parkland; Gilbert, serving with the Army in Philadelphia; Clement, Sunbury; Mrs. Edward Grubewicz and Mrs. Enoch Zero, Mount Carmel; Mrs. Keith Haupt, at home, and Mrs. William Neidig, Shamokin. Surviving also are four sisters, Mrs. Emma Hand, Mrs. Minnie Hawk and Mrs. Margaret Raker, all of Shamokin, and Mrs. Laura Pramuk, Brooklyn; one brother, William Souders, Shamokin; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning in St. Stanislaus Church, beginning at 9:00. Burial will be in the parish cemetery."
