[61901] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 April 2026: "Bucksport, Maine - Evelyn 'Evie' Joan Provost, 81, of Bucksport passed away peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2026, holding the hand of her special companion, Mike. She was born in Machias, Maine, on November 7, 1944, to parents, William H. Bennett and Margaret Eva Donovan Bennett. Evelyn was a unique soul, with a love for Ozzy Osbourne and performing her best rendition of Meatloaf's 'Paradise by the Dashboard Lights' at wedding receptions when she wasn't cutting up the dance floor. Evelyn takes with her some of the most outrageous stories, old wives' tales, cleaning hacks, recipes, superstitions, and "hunting expeditions" in her night gown. Her presence needed no announcement, if Evie were there everyone knew it and what was coming out of her mouth next could never be predicted. She could usually be heard boasting about her children and especially her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments, but she went by 'Mum' to many more than just her own four children. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Ronald Provost. Evelyn is survived by her children, Mark Provost and wife, Betty, of Orland, Shawn Provost and partner, Lisa, of Swanville, Brenda Norwood and husband, Ralph, of Orland, and Ronda Sirois and husband, Shane, of Veazie; seven grandchildren, Scott, Randy, Emily, Aynslie, Colson, Jason, and Jennifer and husband, Jon; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Haley; and all remaining relatives from 'Downeast.' Evie will be deeply missed by a special cousin and partner-in-crime, Toby; and her husband, Buzz."

"News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 23 June 1967," p. 11: "A Shelby woman became Richland County's 13th traffic fatality of 1967 yesterday afternoon and a Bellville teenager is in 'fair to poor' condition in General Hospital following a separate crash near his home 20 minutes later. Dead is Mrs. Alice C. Jenkins, 53, of Dinninger Rd. The driver of the other car in the fatal accident, James N. Powers, 24, also of Shelby, was arrested by patrolmen for driving without an operators license and passing at an intersection. He is listed in 'good' condition at Shelby Memorial Hospital with left hand and rib injuries. Patrolmen said Powers was passing a car which was following Mrs. Jenkins. When Mrs. Jenkins made a left turn onto Dinninger Rd., her car was hit broadside. The fatal mishap happened at 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of Dinninger Rd. and State Route 61. Born in Cardington September 5, 1913, she had lived most of her life in the Shelby area and had worked as a housekeeper at Shelby Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Delphi Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband Clifford; three sons, Donald Merle, Darwin Eugene and Harry Dale, all of Shelby; her father, Frank A. Evans of Mansfield; two brothers, Harley Evans of Mentor and James Evans of Shelby; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Belsterli of Shelby and Mrs. John Burda of Willard; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Barkdull Funeral Home, Shelby, with burial in Oakland Cemetery."
