"Akron Beacon Journal, 16 April 1956," p. 21: "Mrs. Lucy B. Hooper, 82, died Sunday in her home, 604 Brown St., after a four-year illness. She came to Akron seven months ago from Castine, Me., to make her home with her son, Nathaniel. Mrs. Hooper also leaves her husband, Warren; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Shaffer and Mrs. Elizabeth Shackelford of Akron and Mrs. Dana Simmons in Maine; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Barrie in Maine. . . . Burial will be in Castine."
--------------------------
A Parker family was in Castine very early -- John Peters' survey in 1787 shows an Oliver Parker tract on the north shore of Hatch's Cove. Biographies of several 19th century Parkers are given by Wheeler, George A., "History of Castine...", pp. 181-2 and 420-1, which reports that a daughter Lucy was born to Capt. Jonathan Hatch Parker (b. 1834) and his second wife, Marietta Hatch; "Hatch" was captain of the cutter Woodbury at the time of his death in 1891.
[24833] Castell-Remlingen was a county located in the region of Franconia in northern Bavaria.
