William was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #8 of Cherryfield for 64 years, the Steuben Union Church and he was an avid Lobster fisherman. He is survived by his wife 77 years Lillian (Beal) Colson of Steuben, Elaine Dorr and her husband Ed of Stueben, Ethel Garnett and her husband George of Bradenton, Florida, a special Niece Phyllis Dunning of Steuben, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a special friend who was like a daughter Mavis Carriganan of Stueben, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother and two sisters."
