Born on July 21, 1934, in Milbridge, Maine, to Lawrence and Persis Willey, Jim grew up in Cherryfield, Maine, where he graduated from Cherryfield Academy and developed a lifelong love of hunting. Jim served in the U.S. Army before settling in Millis, Mass., where he worked as a truck mechanic, first with Millis Transportation Co. and later with Tresca Bros. He was a proud charter member of Amvets Post 495 and dedicated his life to supporting veterans, serving in numerous leadership roles, including MA State Amvets Commander.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Catherine Kaylor of Cedar Grove, NJ., and William and Leola Briner of Shelby; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Earl Davis of Orangeville, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Teresa Kaylor of Tiro; sister, Stella Smith of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; 42 greatgrandchildren; 16 great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Kaylor, on October 19, 1927; her second husband, Newton Briner on June 19, 1979; a son, James Kaylor; 3 grandchildren, James, Mary and Jimmy Kaylor; 4 brothers; 2 sisters. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
