He was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Castine, the son of Arthur Gray Sr. and Helen (Bowden) Gott. He was educated in Bucksport schools, graduating from Bucksport High School. After graduation Arthur served in the U.S. Navy for four years. After the Navy he owned and operated Gray's Roofing in Florida. Upon returning to Maine he worked for 30 years for St. Regis Paper Co., retiring from Champion Paper Co. Arthur enjoyed fishing, playing cards and Beano. He was a member of Bucksport Rod and Gun Club. Arthur is survived by his wife, Deborah Gray of Orland; one sister, Ethlynn Blackburn and her husband, Jim, of Florida; two daughters, Linda Cockman and her husband, David, of North Carolina and Robin Scott of Florida; two sons, Edward 'Ted' Gray and his wife, Susanne, and Timothy Gray and his wife, all of Florida; a special granddaughter, Chrystal Blue Gray of Florida; as well as several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, George and Gertrude Bowden; one sister, Eloise (Gott) Brown; two brothers, Linwood and Ralph Bowden; and a special daughter-in-law, Brenda Gray Knost."

Polla, 88, a retired tile setter and independent contractor, died Sunday at his Old Castle Point Road home. Mr. Polla has lived In the area since 1967, coming from the Bronx. He served in the Italian Army during World War I and received the Order of the Knight. He was a member of St Joachim's Church, Beacon. Born in Italy May 27, 1898, he was the son of Vittorio and Dorothy Polla. He was married to Norma Teza, who survives. Other survivors Include a son, Albert A. Polla of Wappingers Falls; a brother, Anthony Polla of Italy, a sister, Stella De Marco of Italy and a grandchild There are no calling hours. A Mass of the Christian Burial is today at 10 a.m. at St Joachim's Church, Leonard Street Beacon. Burial will be in the Fishki 11 Rural Cemetery."
