This battle took place on the Ohio river at a place named McMechen Narrows near present day Wheeling, West Virginia. The unverified Clark Family Tree states Isaac m. in 1753 in Meherrin Parish, VA Elizabeth Wooten (1730-1821) and that Isaac is son of Henry Harris (b. 1670 in Wales) who arrived in Middlesex Co., VA ca. 1683-84. Ancestry.com offers: "Harris Name Meaning - English and Welsh (very common in southern England and South Wales): patronymic from the medieval English personal name Harry, pet form of Henry.This name is also well established in Ireland, taken there principally during the Plantation of Ulster.
