Washington St., Montpelier. He was born Dec. 20, 1898, in Williams County, to Clara L. (Keppler) and Frederick J. Maier. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Montpelier. He was a welder in the steel room of Winzeler Stamping Co., for 40 years until his retirement in 1965. He married the former Mary Edith Haines on Dec. 31, 1920, just West of Montpelier. She still is living. Other survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Brannan of Montpelier and Mrs. James (Eilene) Sickmiller of Bryan; one sister, Mrs. Verlyn (Lillian) Heller of Montpelier; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother Carmon, of Edon."
