"He is on the descriptive list of men raised in Essex Co. in 1779, to serve in the Continental Army, age 19 yrs.; 5 ft. 8 in., dark complexion; engaged for the town of Wenham; delivered to Lt. William Storey. His service record number is R2992. This was based on a letter written for Abraham's widow who was destitute at the time. Sarah d. sometime after 19 Nov 1845, which is the date of the attorney's letter for the pension, at Deer Isle, ME. Military Service: Capt. Richard Titcomb's Company, Col. Nathaniel Wade's (Essex Co.) regt.; enlisted July 3, 1780; discharged Oct. 10, 1780; service, 3 mos. 21 days, travel included; company raised in Newburyport, Salisbury, and Amesbury, to reinforce Continental Army for 3 months. Eighty-six years was the measure of his earthly existance. He was honored in various offices of trust on responsibility and was a Deacon in Christ's Church for many years. On December 14, 1814 he married Mary Faust the oldest child of John and Rosanna (Hinsinger) Faust, born in Montgomery County (?) Pa. November 25, 1785 and to Locust Valley, Rush Township with her parents when they settled in that locality during 1806. She died on August 12, 1874 and this happy aged couple now rest in the cemetery at Christ Church."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth 'Barney' Neifert; her sister, Mary Green; sister-in-law, Beverly Sassaman. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Neidlinger; brother, David Sassaman Sr.; and her loving nieces and nephews who were there for her as her health failed. "
