[47340] Ann is daughter of Edmund Putnam (1598-1675) & Ann Compton (1607-1680).
[5121] Henry and Sarah had John (b. 31 Oct 1653) and Henry (b. 11 March 1652) in addition to Sarah (b. 28 Jan 1660). Henry was a freeman at Ipswich, Mass. in 1634; was elected Representative in March, 1635, didn't serve; moved to Newbury, Mass. in 1644. {-"A Genealogical Register of the First Settlers of New England...," John Farmer, 1829 (reprinted 1983), p. 264.} Sue Schwinn on Prodigy 12/91 wrote that Henry was brother to Elizabeth Short who m. Nicholas Holt; from Holt genealogy: "The will of Henry Short dated February 13th, 1672, in Essex County, Massachusetts...states in case his children, Henry and Sarah, die without issue, the next heir is his cousin [nephew] Samuel Holt, and if Samuel fail of issue his brother Nicholas has the estate. This Henry Short came to America in the `Mary and John' in 1634, and settled in Ipswich and later removed to Newbury, where Nicholas Holt and Elizabeth had their first home. It may have been Henry Short's reports of opportunities in the new land which induced his sister Elizabeth, and her husband Nicholas, to set sail for Boston and to go on from there to Newbury...Henry Short was brother to Anthony Short who was in Newbury in 1635. The year before he had been in Ipswich. He was one of the first settlers of each place; he left no issue. Henry was Representative in 1644." Henry's will was proved 19 June 1673. - from "The First Three Generations of Holt Family in America," by the Holt Association of America, 1930. This book states that Henry's son, Henry, was born in 1652 according to Sue Schwinn's posting. Henry Short was first Town Clerk of Newbury. His estate shows a large inventory including "a negro man" (a slave). See also Titcomb's "Early New England People"; Pope's "Pioneers of Mass." Tomm McLean (TMcLEAN@aol.com) reports via email in June 2003: "I have Henry Short (b. 1609 in Walberton, Sussex, England, d. May 5,1673, m. Sarah Glover. His parents were John Short, d. May 27,1638 in Walberton, and Joan Beeding, d. Jan 5, 1645 or 46." - this is not documented or verified. See "Pioneers of Massachusetts - 1620-1650," Charles Henry Pope (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2013), p. 414.

[59941] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 July 2025: "Brewer, Maine - Helen W. Leighton, 87, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born December 22, 1937, in Machias, ME, to William R. Wilson and Marguerite (Lenfesty) Wilson. She graduated from Stonington High School, class of 1956. In her younger working years, she waitressed at Fisherman's Inn Restaurant in Winter Harbor, ME, a job she loved. In her later years, she found her true calling as a CNA. She had a special gift caring for the elderly and sick. She had a deep faith in God and was a life-long member of the RLDS church (Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch). Throughout her life she was very active in her community. In the early-1980s she spearheaded the first Winter Harbor Lobster Festival Parade; she proudly ran this for several years along with the Festival Beauty Pageant. She loved sports of all kinds and was fiercely loyal to her downeast roots. She loved following her children and grandchildren at all their sporting events and nothing made her prouder than to brag about their accomplishments. She always believed her greatest achievement in life was raising her six children. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was so proud of each one. She taught them that faith, tradition and family created the unwavering foundation to which everything else was built. She leaves behind six children, Luanne Chipman (Roger), Lori Ferguson (Donald), Samuel (Scott) Leighton (Ruth), Leta Leighton (Christine), Michael Leighton (Marc), and Richard Leighton (Michelle); sisters, Wanda Sickles (Larry) and Rania Pettengill (Rodney); and a brother, Gary Wilson, and predeceased by sister-in-law, Janis Wilson. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins."

[18723] Chilton Times, March 9, 1889 published his obituary: "Attorney R. L. Wing, of Kewaunee, died March 1, of Bright's disease, after an illness of about three days. The deceased was born in Oneida County, N.Y., in 1832, and came to Wisconsin in 1848. He served during the war as orderly sergeant in the Twenty-first and Twenty-third Wisconsin volunteer infantry, and at the time of his death was ex-Senior Vice Commander of the Wisconsin GAR. He was also a prominent member of the I.O.O.F., Free Masons and Temple of Honor. While returning from the Sate encampment of the GAR last week, he contracted a severe cold which resulted in his death. He leaves a wife and son, G. W. Wing, who is probate judge of that county. The funeral took place last Monday under the direction of the GAR. Mr. Wing was one of the pioneers of Calumet County, coming here in 1848 and locating in the town of Chilton. He held the position of deputy county clerk under Gen. B. J. Sweet."
