He was born June 7, 1888, at Orangeville, the son of John and Emma Ritzman. He was married June 10, 1925, to Marjorie Hobbs of Warren. In January, 1949, he resigned as state oil inspector due to ill health. For many years he was secretary of the Orangeville board of education. Ritzman was a member of the Orangeville Methodist church and president of the Men's Bible class. He belonged to the Masonic lodge, the American Legion, and was a veteran of World War I. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois school of pharmacy. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Nancy, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Wheeland of Freeport. He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents." Note: The 5 April 1940 federal censusin Orangeville lists daughter Nancy as adopted and her father Robert B. Ritzman as "attendant, filling station".
