[13768] Known as Keith - the 1930 federal census lists him as Keith H. Haupt. His obitutary 22 Aug 1994 in the Hazelton (PA) Standard-Speaker: "Howard K. Haupt - retired photographer Howard Keith Haupt, 85, of 180 Venisa Drive, Ridgewood, a retired photographer for the Shamokin News-Item, died Sunday evening at Hazleton General Hospital, where he had been a patient for several weeks. Haupt, formerly of 1708 W. Lynn St., Shamokin, was bom in that comunity Jan. 11, 1909, a son of the late Edward and Mary Haupt. He worked for News-Item for 26 years, retiring in 1974 after winning several photography awards. Prior to that, he owned and operated a photography studio in Shamokin. He was educated in the Coal Township schools and the New York Institute of Photography. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II."
