Geist, 89, of North Brookfield Street, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal. Mrs. Geist retired in 1973 as a licensed practical nurse. She was born Nov. 18, 1903, in Germany and lived in South Bend most of her life. She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Shackelford of Odessa, Texas; a son, Jack of South Bend; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
