[30498] William's unverified ancestry is from "Cassie's Tree" in Ancestry.com in 2012. A file in Ancestry.com in 2012 offers: "On March 24, 1634, the ship Hercules left London, England. Twenty five days later when the Hercules landed in Ipswich, Massachusetts and her passengers descended the planks - William Fifield was among them. William became one of the original settlers in Hampton, New Hampshire where he was given a grant of land in 1640. On June 2, 1641 he was made a freeman of Massachusetts Bay. William served in several offices in Hampton - attorney, selectman, constable, and sheriff. The Quakers praised him for his humanity. All eight of his children were born in Hampton - the first, John, was born in 1645. In 1648 William's wife, Mary, gave birth to their second son, Benjamin from whom the Fifields of Readfield and Manchester, Maine descend. In 1667 William conveyed land to Benjamin, who was then 19 years of age, and probably anticipating marriage. William saw Benjamin marry, and also enjoyed the birth of Benjamin's nine children. When William, the American Fifield progenitor, died in 1700 he exceeded eighty years of age, and had in fact, lived to see forty of his forty-eight granchildren enter this world."

She married Henry Rowley in England prior to 1630. When and where she died is unknown but was prior to October 17, 1633, the date the widower Henry Rowley married as his second wife, Anne Elsdon (q.v. Helsdon) at Plymouth, Mass., the widow of Deacon Thomas Blossom, Sr. Sarah Palmer and Henry Rowley had two known children:
i. Sarah Rowley, born circa 1630 likely in England and died at Falmouth, Mass. purportedly on Dec. 17, 1710. She married Apr. 11, 1646 at Barnstable, Mass. to Jonathan Hatch. He died at Falmouth, Mass. on Dec. 10, 1710. Eleven children of the family. ii. Moses Rowley, born circa 1632 likely at Plymouth, Mass. and died testate June 14, 1705 at Haddam, Conn. He married Apr. 22, 1652 at Barnstable, Mass. to Elizabeth Fuller, eldest child of Dr. and Capt. Matthew Fuller of Plymouth and Barnstable, Mass., granddaughter of Edward Fuller of the 1620 passage of the Mayflower. She was born Apr. 4, 1626 probably in England (her father did not arrive in New England with his family until shortly before 1640) and died after March 7, 1714/15 at Colchester, Conn. Such pilgrims generally brought back a palm branch as proof that they had actually made the journey, but there was a vigorous trade in false souvenirs, and the term also came to be applied to a cleric who sold indulgences."
