Getchell posted this on GenForum 13 Dec 2001: "The Getchells came from Scotland then to England, and the two brothers John and Samuel were here in Mass, and N.H. etc. Jane Getchell was an unrecorded birth of Samuel and Elizabeth Nason, who were married in Berwick Nov. 9, 1714 (source - "Marriages and Deaths at Berwick and other Towns. Taken from the Berwick Town Records." Comb. by George W. Lord, Berwick, ME)." T. Getchell posted 27 Jan 2002: "I know that Jane Getchell, and Josuha Gray had one son, John Gray, b.1740, died 1790, buried in Sedgewick, Hancock Co. ME." [Information from T. Neifert, 74, Quakake, a retired car inspectorfor the Reading Railroad, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the State Hospital, where he had been patient for three weeks. A life-long resident of Quakake, he was born December 25, 1882, and was a son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Billig) Neifert. The deceased was a member of Christ Reformed Church, Rush Township; the Red Men Lodge of Tamaqua; the Fraternal Patriotic Order of Americans, No. 217, Quakake, and the Quakake Fire Co. His wife, the former Mayme Fritz, died in 1941. Surviving are the following children: Pearl, wife of Raymond Hillegan, and Edith, wife of Arthur Walter, Quakake; Leonard, Park Crest; Robert, Tamaqua; and Forest, Allen Park, Mich.
