[35880] Find A Grave memorial 96333201 offers Dorothy's obituary: "Dorothy May Scarberry, age 91, a long-time Lamar resident, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 30, 2012 in Creston, Iowa. Dorothy was born May 27, 1921 at Winterset, Iowa, the oldest of the five children of Raymond Arthur and Mabel Rose (Cramer) Paullin. She was educated in Madison County country schools and later Winterset High School. On June 24, 1938 at Winterset, Iowa, Dorothy married Howard Wayne Scarberry and they had celebrated 65 years together before his death December 27, 2003. They had lived in Ripley, West Virginia where Dorothy worked at Boeing Aircraft as a riveter. Later, they moved to Los Angeles, California where she did office work at Veterans Administration Hospitals for over 20 years. After retiring, Howard and Dorothy moved to Lamar, where they bought a home and farm. Many will remember Dorothy as a cheerful and efficient waitress and cashier at the Blue Top Cafe in Lamar. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle, she dearly loved the Lord and her church family. She was very involved with making blankets with her Church Sisters, and wanted to share God's love and good news with everyone. She loved spending time with family and friends, and playing dominos. Dorothy went to stay with her sister, Ruby Beaver at Lineville, Iowa in 2009 and lived there until entering the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center in February 2012. Survivors include four grandchildren, Richard Moffitt of Glenrock, Wyoming, Donna Cunningham & husband Lanny of Creston, Koni & husband Todd Tyler of Neosho, Rick & wife Staci Scarberry of Lamar; nine great-grandchildren, Whitley Scarberry, Misty Buhler, Nate Scarberry, Traci Chenowth, P.J. Heinen, Dylan Tyler, Rebecca Shockely, Desire' Null, and Jeremiah Null; numerous great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Penny Scarberry, Benton, Louisiana: a brother, Frank & Sharon Paullin, Creston, Iowa; three sisters, Ruby Beavers, Lineville, Iowa, Ruth Ann Hartsock, Wichita, Kansas, and Edna Johnson, Afton; and a large extended family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Sue Barwick in 2005; a son Howard, Jr. in 2008; a granddaughter, Staci Null; and a grandson, Tracy Scarberry.'
[44732] Joan is said to be daughter of Sir Girard Urfleet.
