After his discharge from the Navy, Bryan held various jobs before he began a 35 year career with National Cash Register. He was a Field Tech, working on cash registers, ATM machines, credit card machines, and computers. After retirement he worked for the Town of Carmel for several years until his health started to fail. Bryan loved to spend his spare time hunting and fishing. He was a past member of Ducks Unlimited in Vermont. Bryan will be known for his love of his wife, his children and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bryan was predeceased by his brother David Hodgkins, and sister-in-law Kathy Hodgkins. [45592] "The Sentinel [Carlisle, PA], 16 January 2005," p. 12: "John 'Jack' Yasalonis, 80, of New Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at home under hospice care. Born June 12, 1924, in Danville, he was the son of William and Catherine (Yascavage) Yasalonis. Mr. Yasalonis was a newspaper pressman for more than 40 years, initially with the Shamokin News Dispatch then from 1949 until his retirement in 1989, he worked for the Harrisburg Patriot News. He was pressroom superintendent when he retired. At the Patriot he participated in, and helped implement, a number of changes and improvements to newspaper production. After his retirement, he worked for many local car dealers delivering vehicles all over the region and enjoyed the contact with management, sales staff and customers. Since 1960, Mr. Yasalonis had been a member and active supporter of Saint Theresa's Catholic Church in New Cumberland, volunteering as an usher, doing landscaping and helping with other church activities. He was a life member of the Knights of Lithuania and a lifetime member of the East End Fire and Hose Co., both in Coal Township. Mr. Yasalonis also was a member of the Knights of Lithuania, Harrisburg Chapter, and the Knights of Columbus, Saint Theresa's Council. He enjoyed the outdoors and fished and hunted throughout his life. Mr. Yasalonis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sophia (Kanowicz) Yasalonis; four sons, John W. Yasalonis of Bel Air, Md.; Steven Yasalonis of Enola; Michael Yasalonis of Camp Hill, and Alan Yasalonis of Newtown; one brother, George Yasalonis of Reading; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Dutcavich, Elizabeth Osmanski, Mildred Kanovich and Adele Yasalonis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 1 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Theresa's Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill." At age 18 John registered for the draft stating he was b. and r. at R.D. 5, Danville, Northumberland Co., PA.
