He was born December 17, 1948, in Greenville, the son of Clarence 'Tad' and Vivian (Stanchfield) Turner. He graduated from Monson Academy class of 1967, and attended Husson College in Bangor. He worked for many years as a log truck driver, first for his father, and later for H.C. Haynes and then for Trott Forest Products. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic, always ready to help anyone. He was a good provider and enjoyed taking caring of his property, whether it was mowing in the summer or plowing in the winter. He was a caring husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather; and always followed his children's and grandchildren's activities. He is survived by his wife, Betsy King of Guilford; 2 sons, Matthew Turner of Hudson, and James Turner and his fiancé, Sherry Crawford of Stetson; a daughter, Allison Butler and her husband, Jeffrey of Atkinson; 2 step-children, Valerie and Ian King both of Guilford; 2 brothers, Fred Turner and his wife, Prudy of Willimantic, and Brian Turner and his wife, Cindy of Monson; grandchildren, Tad, Nathan, Bailey, Miranda, Jacob, Hiram, Silas, and one unborn grandchild that he was hoping to meet."
