Mr. Geist was born September 27, 1936 in Sprankle Mills, the son of Paul and Cozie (Troutman) Geist. He was married to the former Nancy Shepler on July 9, 1960. An employee of Punxsutawney Area Hospital and Perry Drilling, he attended the Barton Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include his wife, Nancy Geist; two daughters: Mrs. James (Laurie) Bianco of Punxsutawney and Kim Geist, at home; one grandson; four sisters: Mrs. Orvis (Marie) Newcome of Punxsutawney R.D. 5, Mrs. Russell (Ethel) Schantz of Punxsutawney R.D. 5, Mrs. Jack (Goldie) Hicks of Punxsutawney, and Mrs. Hugh (Lois) Elkin of Big Run; and four brothers: Clair Geist of Punxsutawney R.D. 4, Robert Geist of Punxsutawney R.D. 5, Harold Geist of Mayport, and Carl Geist of Tampa, Fla.
