He worked most of his life in a machine shop as a tool grinder. Frank died as the result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident about four miles south and west of his home in Cambria, Michigan. Frank and Esther had children: Theresa May and Carol Jean."

[7276] John H. Briner built his cabinetmaking shop at Mount Pleasant, just west of the present home of John McKeehan, between Blain and New Germantown, by about 1860. See photo in "Briner Family History," p. 518A. He served as a private in the PA Volunteers during the War Between the States - his discharge papers describe him as 26 years old, 5'10" tall and of light complexion with blue eyes. Findagrave.com offers: "John Hammer Briner, well known and highly respected citizen an a veteran of the Civil War, passed away suddenly at his home near Mt. Pleasant, Perry County, on Saturday evening at 7:20 o'clock, of general debility. Mr. Briner had fallen on the stove about seven months ago and burned himself severely from which he had recovered and was out working around some on the day of his death. John Hammer Briner, was the son of the late George and Magdalina (Seager) Briner and was born at the old homestead, at Mt. Pleasant on July 10, 1937 and died on August 13, 1921, aged 84 years, 1 month, and 3 days. Mr. Briner was married to Anna Elizabeth Hollenbaugh on March 27, 1877, at Shelby, Ohio by the Rev. B. Summers, by which union four children were born. The oldest child, William died at the age of eight days. Mr. Briner leaves his wife and the following children; Anna Magdaline Briner, at home; Mary E. wife of William Minleh, of Mansfield, Ohio; Harry Don Briner, at home. Mr. Briner was one of a family of seven children. Two survive, namely George S. Briner of Carlisle, who served in the office of Register & Recorder in the Perry county Courts, and Anna, wife of Andrew Brown, of Newville. Those dead of his brothers and sisters are; Mrs. Sallie Miller, Mrs. Magdaline Eby, Jacob Briner, Mrs. Elizabeth Foutz, and Daniel Briner. Mr. Briner was a Civil War Veteran, enlisting in Captain G. C. Palm's Regiment, Co. F, 208th Pa. Vol. and was honorably discharged at Alexandria, Virginia, June 1, 1865. Mr. Briner was born and reared in this part of Perry County and pratically lived all his long life inthis section. He went west in 1870 but only stayed for 2 years, residing during that time at Mansfield and Akron Ohio. He received a common school education and was a man of good judgement. He conducted the undertaking business for many years but after is retirement he engaged in farming. Mr. Briner united with the Lutheran church when he was eighteen years old and was regular in attendance at devine worship when his health permitted. He was a faithful member. The community in which he lived has lost a good and kind neighbor. He was a thoughtful husband and kind father. A large circle of friends were sorry to learn of his death. . . . .Additional information: John Hammer Briner enlisted in Harrisburg September 2, 1864, mustered into federal service there September 12 as a private with Co. F, 208th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company June 1, 1865. He was a carpenter by trade and stood 5' 10" tall with light hair and blue eyes."

He was born July 23, 1932, in Brooksville, the son of Donald and Ernestine (Babson) Gray. Joe worked many years at Snows Plumbing and Heating as well as a plumber for Don Stewart. He also worked in the Callahan and Blue Hill mines. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God. Joe loved working in the woods and being with his family. He looked forward every fall to his hunting adventures with a group from Isleboro. He is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Gray and wife Andrea of Cape Rosier, David Gray of Prospect; five grandchildren, James Gray, Rebecca Gray, Emily Wascholl (and her husband, Chad), Kyle Joseph Gray and Kalen Gray, also one great grandchild, Chad Wascholl; one sister-in-law, Miriam Black of Brooksville. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Emma (Nutter) Gray; a brother, Carlton Gray, and daughter, Vicki Jo Gray."
