Commanded a company in Colonel Samuel Brewer's regiment. He took 7 sons into his company. His son Eleazer at the age of eleven served in his company as a fifer, and his son David, age thirteen, as a drummer boy.
Died in Parsonsfield, Maine at his son Samuel's home.
Buried in the Burbank Cemetery in South Parsonsfield
