He was born in South Bend Oct. 24, 1884, and spent his entire life here. He was married in this city in 1922 to Miss Clara Nimitz, who survives. He leaves a sister, Mrs. William Gray, and two brothers, Valley and George Hepler, all of South Bend. He was a veteran of the world war, having served 26 months overseas, and was a member of South Bend post 1,167, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks."
