Note: Bernhard Kepner came to Pennsylvania about 1715. On 29 April 1721 he purchased 100 acres of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, from Claus Braun. In March 1745 he sold this property with the consent of his wife, Barbara. It was bordered by present Germantown Avenue, Hartwell Lane, Creshelm Creek a nd the Wissahickon, and is familiar to all who know Chestnut Hill. Note: Johannes &Anna Barbara emigrated to Philadelphia from Germany in 1715. Some of Johannes descendants evidently changed their surname to Kepler.
