She was a member of the North Congregational Church of Portsmouth, New Hampshire for over 50 years and was active in the North Church Women and the Nearly New Shop. She was also a member of the Garden Club, Eastern Star, Graffort Club of Portsmouth and a former member of the Grange and Rebekahs in Maine. She retired after 30 years with the Prudential Insurance Co in New Hampshire. She was married to William Palfrey who predeceased her in 1988. She was also predeceased by her sister, Edna Gilbert and sister-in-law, Patricia Hutchins. She is survived by her brother, Robert M. Hutchins, brother-in-law, Gordon Gilbert, nephew Robert Gilbert, niece, Rebecca Achorn, cousin, Eugene Churchill and many great nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoyt and friend Les Dorr."
