[57607] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 18 August 2020: "Patten - Marilyn Lee (Elwell) Somers 'Minu', 82, of Patten, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, in Houlton. Marilyn was born in Stacyville on April 25, 1938, to John and Pearle (Clockedile) Elwell. She was the valedictorian of the Sherman High School class of 1955 and graduated from Husson College in 1956. She married Robert E. Somers on December 31, 1956. At age fourteen, Minu became the pianist and later the organist at the Washburn Memorial Church, and later became organist and pianist at other churches in the area. Many local students got their musical start through piano lessons with Marilyn. She sang with The Good News Singers, a local gospel group. Marilyn was active in many church and community organizations. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Bobby, in 1979, and their sons Barry, in 1997, and Glenn, in 1979; her parents; and a brother, Robert E. Elwell. The people who have known and loved Marilyn throughout her life are many. Among her family who will miss her dearly are her grandson, Michael Somers, wife Bekah of Lebanon, Illinois, and great-grandson Crosby; daughter-in-law, Beth Somers of Patten and grandson Bradley Hotham. She is also survived by a sister, Anita Mountain and husband Carrol of Lakeland, Florida; two brothers, Keith Elwell and wife Marion of Readfield, and John Patrick Elwell and wife Pam of Smithfield. Also surviving and brother-in-law Richard Somers; sisters-in-law Ann Marie Elwell, Sadie Heath and husband Wayne, Vicki Richardson and husband Steve, Lois Somers, and Glenda Somers; an aunt, Angeline Strait; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. During her illness, her mind frequently took her back to Christmas on the Elwell farm, where there were singalongs of Christmas carols. When we come to another Christmas season, we ask that you sing a carol in her memory and we believe that Minu will be joining you in song."

[11517] Francis' obituary 27 Feb 1927 in the News-Journal, Mansfield, OH states he "was struck by an interurban car one week ago today" and infers that he died of the injuries. Such a car would be a relatively high-speed trolley, usually electric with overhead wires.

He was frequently called James Edward Stuart. He was a pretender to the throne, also called James III, the Old Pretender, and the Chevalier de Saint George; for more than half a century he was regarded by his Jacobite followers as the rightful king of Great Britain.
When his father, King James II, was driven from England by the so-called Glorious Revolution later the same year, James Edward was taken to the French court at Saint-Germain-en-Laye. In 1701, on the death of James II, Louis XIV of France proclaimed the young prince the rightful successor to the English throne.
English sentiment was strongly against James Edward, however, because of his Roman Catholicism. That same year the English Parliament, to prevent the return of a Roman Catholic to the throne, passed the Act of Settlement, and the following year it enacted a bill of attainder against James Edward. In 1708, supported by the French and by a group of his adherents known as Jacobites, James Edward attempted unsuccessfully to invade Scotland and was driven back to France. In 1715 a rebellion was launched by the Jacobites in Scotland and in December of that year James Edward went to Scotland, where he was to be crowned. The movement failed, however, in the face of superior forces under John Campbell, 2d duke of Argyll, and James Edward again retired to France.
After 1719 James Edward lived in Rome, where he was given royal honors. The struggle on behalf of the Stuart cause was renewed by his older son, Charles Edward Stuart. James Edward's younger son, Henry Benedict Stuart, Cardinal York, became the last of the Stuarts in the male line of succession after his brother's death, and called himself Henry IX.

Find A Grave memorial 69529563 offers: "Thomas West, 1st Baron West was the only son of Sir Thomas West, of de Hampton Cantilupe and Alice FitzHerbert.
When Thomas was seventeen, he and his mother and sister Eleanor were assaulted and robbed, by Nicholas Clifton, who carried his sister off; he was probably the same Nicholas Clifton who later married her. He had married Joan de Willington (née de la Warr), half-sister to John de la Warr, 4th Baron de la Warr, before May 2, 1384, when they were pardoned for marriage without license. They were the parents of three sons: Thomas (b.1391), John (died c.1393) and Reginald (born c.1394).
He was knighted in 1399 and summoned to Parliament as Lord West in 1402. He died in 1405 and was interred at Christchurch Priory." See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_West,_1st_Baron_West. Ancestry.com offers: "West Name Meaning - English and German: from Middle English, Middle High German west 'west', hence a topographic name for someone who lived to the west of a settlement, or a regional name for someone who had migrated from further west."
