She was born June 26, 1910, in Bucksport, the daughter of Isaac D. and Jennie M. (Clay) Quimby. May was a dedicated homemaker for many years and had worked in the shoe industry for several years. She was a member of the Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church, Hampden, where she was an active member in church fellowship and enjoyed playing cards. Surviving are one daughter, Jennie Seekins and her husband, Warren Chatto of Hampden; three sons, Walter Bowden and his wife, Annie May of Canaan, Earl Bowden and his wife, Charlotte of Belfast, the Rev. Granville Bowden and his wife, Betty of Sanford, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Delia, Ethel, Evelyn and Georgia; and by a son-in-law, Ralph Seekins."
